Taught by some of our best Travel Team Catching Coaches our Coach(es) will provide a unique and personal evaluation opportunity to help catchers find their strengths, understand their weaknesses and improve their overall performance. Each instructional session or clinic will allow catchers to make the best use of the off-season months in preparation for next season, as well as, the opportunity to improve in all aspects of related to catching and the game of baseball, whether that is through group or individual instructions.

6 Week intensive Catchers Clinic Series taught by some of our best Travel Team Catching Coaches. Split by Skills Level into ROOKIE/INTERMEDIATE LEVEL & INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL (See below for breakdown)
Catchers will be assessed and evaluated using metrics that establish a baseline for each catcher. Each session will provide the opportunity to measure improvements, with the goal of achieving established “gold” standards.
Soft Skills: The focus will be on relationships with pitchers, managing the game, understanding batters and establishing leadership qualities, winning attitude and positive team culture.
Hard Skills: This area covers aspects related to the proper mechanics of catching and allows every catcher the ability to improve their game. They include but are not limited to:

a. Stance and Set Up: (3 catching positions)
b. Framing and Receiving
c. Blocking
d. Throw downs
e. Plays at the Plate
f. Past Balls
g. Pop Ups
h. Foul Tips
i. Fielding Ball in Front of the Plate (Bunts)
j. Covering Bases
k. Drop 3rd Strikes
l. Calling Pitches/Taking Signals/Throwing Signals
Pregame Routine: This area covers aspects related to preparing for each game.
a. Checking and maintaining equipment
b. Stretching
c. Warm up Drills
d. Field conditions
e. Reviewing game strategies with pitchers and coaches
Training Drills: Catchers will learn and perform drills that will enhance both their physical capacity, as well as, their performance outcomes. Drills will cover, but be limited to, the skill sets listed below.

a. Blocking
b. Throw downs
c. Plays at the Plate
d. Past Balls
e. Pop Ups
f. Foul Tips
g. Fielding Ball in Front of the Plate (Bunts)
h. Drop 3rd Strikes
By the end of each clinic every catcher will develop a sustainable individualized program that they will be able to use to improve their game, making them a more valued member of any team and increasing playing opportunities.
NEW CATCHERS: For players new to catching they will learn the proper mechanics needed to be a successful catcher. Many coaches, at the lower levels, simply do not have an understanding of the specialized skills and mechanics needed to teach young players the correct mechanics and often over look providing them the proper training to be successful. Bad habits form early and are then hard to break. Sessions provided through clinics will teach new players in progressive easy to learn manner the proper mechanics, will introduce drills to reinforce good habits and will establish an individual practice plan that will allow every player the opportunity to thrive as a catcher and, ultimately, create an opportunity for success and enjoyment.
EXPERIENCED CATCHERS: Experienced players will be provided the opportunity to take their game from good, better to best. Refinements of mechanics, the importance of strength and conditioning, drills, as well as, an individualized training program will be developed. At the more advanced levels the difference between being a back-up catcher or a starter can be marginal and often reflect minor differences. Clinics for more advanced players will provide an opportunity to take their game to the next level and give them the best opportunity to go from back-up to starter and will reinforce all aspects of the game in a small group and individualized manner.
***IF UNSURE WHICH IS THE CORRECT CLINIC SERIES FOR YOUR ATHLETE WE RECOMMEND A CATCHERS EVALUATION BE DONE AND SCHEDULED PRIOR TO START OF CLINIC SERIES. AS WITH ANY OF OUR EVALUATIONS YOU WILL RECEIVE A VERY THOROUGH SESSION WRITE-UP.
**Dates For Clinic: TBD
EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. EACH CATCHER NEEDS TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN PROTECTIVE CUP WHERE APPLICABLE.
We offer single session clinic breakouts and a daily rate if a catcher cannot make the entire series.
